Terms of use

1. Scope

These terms apply to BlindPick on blindpick.net and in the iOS and Android apps, run by Beda Reichlin, Stubenrauchstraße 36, 12161 Berlin, Germany, email: [email protected]. A German version exists; where the two differ, the German version prevails.

2. The game

BlindPick is a fantasy manager based on real professional matches. Statistics come from public sources and can be late, incomplete or corrected afterwards; scores and prices follow those corrections. In-game money has no real value: it cannot be bought, paid out or transferred. There are no prizes.

3. Free time and the unlock

The first 3 hours of use are free. After that, lineup changes, trades, game plans and league creation are disabled until you buy the one-time unlock for €2.99. The unlock applies to your account, has no subscription and lasts as long as we run BlindPick. The price is final: as a small business under § 19 UStG we charge no VAT.

4. Buying on the web

On the web you buy the unlock from us. Payment runs through Stripe. The contract is concluded when you complete the payment on the Stripe checkout page; the unlock is delivered to your account at once and you receive a confirmation by email. The contract language is English or German.

5. Buying in the apps

In the iOS and Android apps, Apple or Google sell the unlock. Their terms govern payment and refunds; ask the store for a refund.

6. Right of withdrawal (web purchases by consumers)

Right of withdrawal: You have the right to withdraw from this contract within fourteen days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period is fourteen days from the day the contract is concluded.

To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must inform us (Beda Reichlin, Stubenrauchstraße 36, 12161 Berlin, Germany, email: [email protected]) of your decision to withdraw from this contract by an unequivocal statement (for example a letter sent by post or an email). You may use the model withdrawal form below, but it is not obligatory. To meet the withdrawal deadline, it is sufficient to send your notice before the withdrawal period has expired.

Effects of withdrawal: If you withdraw from this contract, we shall reimburse all payments received from you without undue delay and at the latest within fourteen days from the day on which we are informed of your decision. We use the same means of payment that you used for the original transaction, unless expressly agreed otherwise; in no event will you be charged any fees for this reimbursement.

Early expiry: For digital content not supplied on a tangible medium, the right of withdrawal expires once we have begun performance after you expressly agreed that we begin before the withdrawal period ends, confirmed that you know you lose your right of withdrawal by this agreement, and we provided you with a confirmation of the contract.

7. Your account

A guest account lives on your device: if you delete the app or clear the browser storage without signing in, the club is gone. Sign in to keep it. Keep access to your sign-in method safe. You can delete your account at any time under Profile → Delete account; the unlock goes with it.

8. Fair play

Do not use bots, scripts or other automated access; do not exploit bugs; do not use several accounts to sway fan votes or rankings. Club, display and league names must not be offensive, illegal or impersonate others. If you break these rules we may rename or remove names, reset results, or suspend or delete the account. An account with a paid unlock is only ended for good cause.

9. A live game

BlindPick changes during the season. We may adjust scoring, prices, balance and rules to keep it fair and fun. The unlock's promise, no time limit on your account, stays.

10. Availability

We work to keep BlindPick running but cannot promise it is always available, for example during maintenance or when a data source fails. If we close BlindPick, we announce it in the app at least three months before.

11. Liability

We are liable without limit for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and under the Product Liability Act. For slight negligence we are only liable for breach of an essential obligation (one whose fulfilment makes the contract possible and on which you may rely), limited to the damage typical and foreseeable for this kind of contract. Otherwise our liability is excluded.

12. Fan project

BlindPick is an independent fan project, not affiliated with or endorsed by Riot Games. League of Legends is a trademark of Riot Games, Inc. Player statistics from Oracle's Elixir and Leaguepedia.

13. Ending and changes

You can stop using BlindPick at any time and delete your account in the app or by writing to [email protected]. We may update these terms for the future and tell you about important changes in the app; changes do not affect purchases you already made.

14. Law

German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer, the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live still apply.
